About the role

This is a new leadership role within UCL School of Management’s Careers Team to lead the School’s dedicated MBA Careers provision. In this job, you will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering a first-class programme of careers activity to students studying, or alumni who have studied, the UCL MBA Global Management within SoM.

This would include individual/group coaching appointments, workshops, seminars, and developing an online learning portal, focusing on all aspects of executive level career development and support across global labour markets.

You will also be responsible for collating/reporting on relevant data and feedback, including initiating a process to collate students’ outcome, salary and employability data at various points throughout and when they leave the programme. You’ll also line manage a Senior Employer Engagement Officer with a 0.5FTE allocation to the MBA programme.

About you

UCL MBA students are often senior executives located in all parts of the world, with considerable work experience behind them and spanning a wide range of ages. You will therefore need to have a high level of confidence, experience and a global perspective to be able to effectively relate to MBA students. You’ll need substantial experience supporting executive-level clients in a coaching capacity through all aspects of their career planning and development, including navigating challenging professional situations and career changes/transitions.

You should also have experience of developing online learning resources and other careers activities (e.g., workshops/seminars), and be a confident presenter/facilitator. You should be effective as a manager of both projects and people, and ideally would have previous experience of working with MBA students in a business school setting.

Teaching and Learning Administrator

About the role

We are recruiting 3 Teaching and Learning Administrators (1 Undergraduate and 2 Postgraduate).

Under the direction of the respective Programme Administrators, the post holder will provide comprehensive support to teaching and learning activities covering the full student lifecycle, including applicant and current student queries, module enrolment, attendance and engagement monitoring, assessment and examination administration, ensuring effective procedures are documented and implemented. This post will assist in achieving a high quality and timely service to current and prospective students and staff relating to the designated modules/programmes and beyond, including supporting committees and quality assurance processes.

About you

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following criteria:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (Including Mathematics and English Language) or equivalent, or having acquired relevant experience.
  • Experience of administration in higher/further education or a teaching and learning environment
  • Familiarity with online learning environments
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken), including ability to deal pleasantly and effectively with a wide range of people in a teaching and learning context
  • Computer literate, including Word, Excel, Outlook, shared online documents, video conferencing systems, email and internet

Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate in Artificial Intelligence

About us

This role, funded through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), offers a springboard to a career in both industry and academia to candidates interested in LLM, data analytics, and programming. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply their experience with LLM projects and ML tools daily to a cutting-edge AI initiative in the reinsurance industry.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a postgraduate/doctoral degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, NLP, Computer Linguistics, or a closely related field. The post holder will lead a cutting-edge innovation project that aims to revolutionise the non-catastrophe insurance market by leveraging LLMs to streamline and enhance the efficiency of data management and analysis. Based at Howden Re, the fastest growing reinsurance broker, the KTP Associate will develop and deliver a state-of-the-art LLM-driven automated workflow for data profiling in the reinsurance industry.

The objectives of the project include:

1: Developing and fine-tuning an automated pipeline for extracting semi-structured and unstructured data using LLM-based methods.

2: Extending the pipeline to support multilingual and regional applications.

3: Creating a user-friendly interface that makes advanced tools accessible to non-expert users.

Plus, the successful candidate will be part of the prestigious 50-year-old national Knowledge Transfer Partnership programme offering a dedicated professional development budget, a network of fellow Associates from many disciplines, and training and mentoring opportunities. The Associate will also have the opportunity to write publications about their work alongside the academic and company teams.

Salary details: The post is offered with a salary on UCL Grade 6B with a salary starting at £38,607 pa (including London Allowance)

Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD and will be offered with a starting salary of £44,840 pa (including London Allowance)

We expect the appointed candidate to start in July 2025.

About the role

The UCL School of Management is hiring a research assistant to support Finance, Accounting, and Economics projects. Working alongside another predoctoral assistant, the postholder will assist academics with data analysis, economic modelling, experiments, and presentation preparation, gaining broad exposure to the field of finance.

The post will initially be offered for 12 months starting from September 2025 until August 2026, with the intent to extend this for a further 12 months thereafter if the postholder has successfully met the requirements of the role.

Salary Details: UCL Grade 6 £35,930 to £41,255 per annum (including London Allowance)

About you

The successful candidate will hold an MSc in a relevant discipline such as social science, economics, engineering, statistics, or computer science. They will possess programming skills in at least one language, with experience in MATLAB and STATA considered desirable but not essential. Strong mathematical training is essential, particularly the ability to understand and verify mathematical proofs. A clear motivation to pursue a PhD or an academic career in finance or economics is also required.
