Annette Yunus-Pendrey
Biography
Annette is the Director of the cross-disciplinary BSc Management for Social Change at University College London (UCL) School of Management. Before joining UCL School of Management, Annette was the Director of the MSc Management and Corporate Sustainability at Cranfield School of Management.
Annette is an experienced sustainability professional, combining over 20 years of sustainability-based practitioner and academic expertise. She worked for 10 years at Aviva plc (London), where she liaised with global investors and worked with colleagues across Aviva’s global businesses to coordinate the implementation of Aviva’s sustainability program. Annette also worked at the University of Cambridge’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), where she supported a more effective three-way flow of knowledge between the University of Cambridge, business leaders and policy makers. At the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD, Paris) Annette was a frequent speaker at international conferences and applied her expertise in independent, high-quality research and policy analysis.
Annette’s academic research interests are in sustainability, social change, and responsible leadership. Annette was presented with the Academy of Management Learning and Development’s 2020 Best Emerging Reviewer Award. She has taught widely across undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive levels in responsible leadership, sustainability, ethics, and management. In 2024 Annette was nominated for the Best Lecturer Award.
She earned her Ph.D. in Management from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), City St. George’s, University of London. Annette also holds a M.Phil. degree from the University of Cambridge, as well as a B.A. (Hons) degree (First Class) from the University of Reading.
